Last week, Aurora attended the Better Climate for Camden Environmental Excellence in Camden Organisations (EECO) Awards 2010 ceremony. Many like-minded organisations from the London Borough of Camden gathered at Centre Point for a pleasant evening of sharing ideas about and gaining recognition for environmental achievements in business and buildings management.
Aurora was up for an award for innovation in sustainable transport and travel and was delighted to be highly commended in this category and presented with an award to show for it that is now hanging on the office wall back in Camden Town. Up against much larger organisations, such as University College Hospital London and Olswang LLP, we were chuffed to be recognised for all our efforts. We will keep on cycling to work, avoiding taxis and cars to business meetings, and working with the management of our office building to improve cycling facilities. It all helps!
If you want to get involved with the Camden Climate Change Alliance and sign up for the Carbon Confident Programme like Aurora did, go to the Better Climate for Camden website. Carbon Confident is a free service provided by Camden Council and is a great way to get started on sustainable business by learning from experts and sharing ideas with other companies. There is also a case study of Aurora’s experience on the Carbon Confident Programme to check out too, we highly recommend it!
