The quality of health media materials provided to journalists are under the gavel in a court-room type drama at Brown’s Court Room tonight from 6.30 pm. Communications consultant and former health editor at The Sun, Jacqui Thornton, is presiding over proceedings as Judge. Experts giving evidence include Jenny Hope, medical correspondent at the Daily Mail, and Dr Patricia Campbell, industry consultant in medical affairs.
A jury of 12 healthcare journalists, covering national, broadcast and digital media will cast their verdict after the debate has been deliberated. This event is a breakthrough moment, providing journalists with an opportunity to directly tell the industry what they need from us to report accurately on key health issues, and for industry to hear these views and engage with the opinions.
The event is sponsored by Aurora and is free to attend for all interested industry personnel; comms folk right through to signatories welcome! If you are keen to attend and have not registered to date, please call Carolin on 07896 261 398.
For those unable to attend, we will be providing a live Tweet stream from the meeting. Follow the Aurora profile or search under #foj and #pharma. If you wish to submit a question to the journalist panel during the Q&A section of proceedings, then message @aurorahealthpr and we will endeavour to relay your question and the panel’s response.
The meeting will run under the Chatham House rule, so any comments from the meeting will not be attributed to individuals. We will use the following Twitter abbreviations to provide context to comments:
