‘Mixing’ with the stars

Whether you like it or not we live in a global celebrity culture. In the Aurora office there are the extremes of opinion on this topic. Some of us avidly consume the celeb rags and regularly spot them on the street, while others have a sub-zero interest.
Despite the difference in opinion all of us were star struck when last year we went for an office lunch at a favourite local pub.
As we arrived we were told for the whole lunch sitting we were the only table and were to provide the back-drop for an interview with none other than Chris Martin (and another one) from Cold Play. The interview was to be part of a 60 Minutes special to air during the Grammy Awards in America.
Our only instruction was to not look too much at the camera and try and keep the festive (it was coming up to Christmas 2008) noise down (a bit). We managed this for the two hour duration of the interview and to say thank you the lovely Mr Martin bought us masses of champagne and gave us a big smile as he left.
Now you might wonder why, more than nine months later, Aurora is raising this on their ‘of the moment’ blog. Well the simple answer is that a friend of the office stumbled across the clip (below) from the programme on YouTube. The Aurora team can be seen (very blurred and for only a few seconds) in the background at two minutes and 10 seconds. Don’t blink or you will miss us.
PS. My friend was on honeymoon at a West Country boutique hotel last week and Chris and Gwyneth were also staying there. Apparently they were (unknown to the Martins) competing with the honeymooners on the ‘who is more in love?’ front. Apparently the not so newly weds won (aah)
