This Friday finds the Aurora office bright, woolly and very cosy, as we take part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day! All of us at Aurora have travelled to work sporting jumpers either bought, borrowed or blinged, and donated money to Save the Children to contribute towards their life-changing work with the world’s most [...]

Inspiration for this post began after ear-wigging into a conversation on the train recently when I overheard someone from a bee charity discussing the plight of the humble bee and the impact their demise has on the pollination of (apparently) 90% of the world’s crops. A few weeks passed without much more thought on the [...]

In the last couple of weeks a stranger has appeared in the Aurora office, or, to be more specific, the Aurora fridge. We have branched out into the new and (mildly) exciting world of caffeine-free Coca-Cola and our trendy 1950’s style fridge is glittering festively with red (full-fat), silver (diet) and gold (caffeine-free) aluminium goodness. Having conveyed some guilt in my recent post, ‘Bacon on Test’, due to excess bacon consumption in the name of science, it happily all washed away one morning last week when my colleague, ‘Ze Frollein’, told me that “a fry-up is the best way to start your day”. Now, although it was April fool’s day, [...]

As someone who often resorts to the easy, timesaving and gratifying (if unhealthy) breakfast solution of the local cafe fried bacon and egg sandwich, I have decided to justify this little vice by turning it into a scientific study designed to improve public welfare. If, at the very least, I make myself sick of this [...]

As usual for this time of year, I am trying to lose weight. I don’t like to call it a New Year’s resolution but something about a new year makes me want to start working on my new, healthier lifestyle. I’ll admit I have found it difficult this month. My stomach might feel empty but [...]

Wherever you go, whatever you do, read or watch, there is no place in this country where you aren’t bombarded with news, information and advice on what to eat, what not to eat, when to eat, how to eat and, most importantly, how to shed pounds whilst eating…. If you are one of those people [...]
